Huichol Village Tour: Living History

Still living without electricity and running water, they continue to rely on their balance with Mother Nature in order to survive as they have for centuries. Best known for their intricate artwork, the Huichol people are a deeply spiritual people. Their art is an expression of their spirituality, created from “visions” and “dreams” that come to them during religious ceremonies. Elaborate yarn paintings and intricate beadwork designs, both utilizing psychedelic color schemes, are some of the better known forms of art that the Huichol produce by hand.
