Whale watching season has officially begun for the Riviera Nayarit area. Every year, from December through March, visitors can view the extraordinary natural beauty of the humpback whale as it moves to the warmer waters of the Mexican Pacific coast for mating season. The whales migrate from the northern waters of Alaska, which are too cold for mothers and babies during the chilly winter months. Grey whales can also be spotted, as well as Orcas, the biggest predator of the humpback whale. There are a few whale watching operations to choose from if you aren't content just watching the whales from the shore. These tours give you a chance to get within 100 feet of this majestic mammal.... Punta Mita Expeditions is the closest whale watching outfitter to the communities of Punta Mita. Their number is 329-291-6649. Vallarta Adventures run several different whale watching expeditions including a Whale Watching Photo Safari. Prices are $60 for kids and $85 for adults. You can book by calling 888-526-2238 or sending an email. Interested in staying in one of our luxury vacation rentals? Please check out all the luxury villas we offer.
