The 3rd Annual Punta Sayulita Longboard & Stand-Up Paddle Classic is set to take place from March 9 - 11, 2012. This is a key event on the calendar of the Punta Mita peninsula and has grown in popularity in it's 3 short years. Throw on that bikini (or your board shorts!) and head to Sayulita on the second weekend in March to enjoy the action! The Punta Sayulita Surf Classic takes place in the gorgeous surf-centric village of Sayulita. Over the past two years this event has become one of the premier surfing and stand-up paddle events in North America. It attracts thousands of spectators. Professional athletes & talented amateurs come together to compete in longboard and stand-up paddle surfing contests, as well as in an array of exciting offshore SUP distance races. Not limited to a sports event, the Punta Sayulita Surf Classic and its sponsors have worked very hard to raise awareness for environmental protection and respect of the world´s oceans and wildlife, they have also financially supported the local chapter of The Reef Check Eco-Diver Program and the Punta Sayulita Foundation's educational and youth development programs.
